Friends of Ravenhill Park Limited (FORP) was registered with the Financial Conduct Authority (reg. no. 6931) as a Charitable Community Benefit Society on 4th November 2025. This important step also helps to limit the liabilities of members and to set a stronger foundation for the future. Our registered members will be invited to our first Annual General Meeting in the spring of 2026 - so click on the link below to contact our secretary about joining us.
The Society exists to enhance, protect and promote Ravenhill Park in Swansea. We aim to bring people together and have fun whilst creating opportunities for companionship, volunteering and raising awareness of the natural environment and our local heritage. We take the 'community benefit' part of our organisation extremely seriously. The park was created for the benefit of people living in surrounding communities. As we have developed over the years, the aspirations, ideas and enthusiasm of our community has always shaped our plans. This is reflected in the progress we have made, in the new play equipment, in the many annual events and activities, and in the extended and refurbished cafe. We will continue to have a relentless focus on community engagement.

Where next? Our plans for the future ...
In the last ten years FORP has helped to make some remarkable improvements at Ravenhill Park all in partnership with Swansea Council, Council officers and Cockett Ward Councillors. During lockdown we had lots of ideas, but no money. We did not expect to see an investment of over £250,000 by 2025 but this was achieved through close partnership links and a strong focus from the Council to support parks and community facilities.
By working together in a spirit of goodwill, trust and mutual respect, we hope that we will see continued improvements in the years to come.
Cockett Councillors Elliott King, Mike Durke and Oliver James
